Cole is requiring a whole outfit change with most every diaper change now. His dirty diapers are always explosive (sound-wise, smell-wise, and projectile-wise!). You can always count on his dirty diapers to go up his back (almost up to his neck) and sometimes out of the sides. When he's just wet, it's now leaking up the front more often than not. I thought I was just late in the game to notice it was time to move up sizes, but it's clearly more than that. Right now we're using Pampers Sensitive. Do we just do trial and error and try all the brands until we find the right fit? Just making sure I'm not missing out on something obvious that experienced Mommas already know...
We always used LUVS. Cheap and worked great! Also rarely if ever did they have a rash! Good luck sweet mama!

ReplyDeleteWe do Luvs a lot as well, and Parents Choice from Walmart. Sometimes, you just can't stop the up-the-back blowouts since babies are always smooshing the pooh by sitting or lounging. And my boys always seemed to pee buckets at night, no matter what! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a little embarrassed to admit this but with Burke I wasn't getting the diaper completely pulled up and untucked. We were having constant leaks. I was going crazy trying to figure it out! Once I started properly putting on the diaper, no more leaks! I'm sure you are diapering him just fine, but maybe double check! We've always used Pampers.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the explosive poop did it start when you added cereal or is this a regular thing for Cole? If it started with cereal I would switch brands and see if thar helps.

Ha! Cole's been explosive from the beginning. It's just more now! Alicia, I too was guilty of the diaper being tucked in the back. Learned my lesson quick on that one. I also am super pulling up and stretching out around his legs too. Going a size up in diapers at night now and that seems to help hold more in. Got some Luvs to try too! ReplyDeleteMy first one always soaked through his diapers at night. We used Huggies Overnights for him at night. I am not sure if they make those anymore? One mom suggested double diapering. I didn't end up doing it, but if you get desparate...
ReplyDeleteUsually I was a Pampers mom though. Did you notice I said WAS? That is because we are completely out of diapers now. I cannot believe it. Sounds silly, but it is a little bittersweet because that means my kids are growing up. No more babies at my house. Good luck!
