As if still recovering health-wise and settling in back at home from our trip wasn't enough, we're adding rice cereal to our crazy days! The twins had a fantastic 4 month appointment. Cole is averaging in the 25th percentile with his measurements and believe it or not, Camryn is actually in the 25th percentile for height. I know. I watched closely as they measured her 3 times just to be sure and it's true. None of her other stats are on the chart, but her height is definitely on there. Let's hope my short genes really do stay away from her...Things are checking out well for them and their appetites are definitely present and growing, so we're taking a stab at the spoon, starting with rice. It's definitely going to be a process. Cam might be getting a better hang of things while Cole just gets frustrated. I'm guessing we just need to practice practice practice and hopefully by the time they're 6 months old we'll have it down to eat baby veggies and fruits. So I am now shamelessly asking all for advice and help with the whole rice cereal/spoon feeding learning process. Seriously, please share your knowledge!
I don't have any valuable knowledge on this one. It takes time, patience, and practice. Burke would get frustrated as he liked it but couldn't figure out how to get it down. He wanted it so bad, but it just didn't work. I mashed up some bananas and added it to the cereal and for some reason that did the trick. Maybe he really didn't like it until it had bananas! haha! I also love the spoons at Williams Sonoma...can't remember what they are called. They are small and not huge and fat. Good luck! Cole, looks precious!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the insight! I've heard from several people that bananas are the key factor. Looks like we're gonna try that! I'll also check out the Williams Sonoma spoons. We've got little Gerber ones right now, maybe they're like that? I can't wait until they're taking in the queso and salsa like Burke!
