Buggin'
Whoa. Whoa is all I have to say. Last week the stomach bug entered our home and as of today has pretty much gotten all but one foot out the door. Starting Monday of last week, the bug reared its ugly head in both of my babies-coming ferociously out of both ends. By the end of the week the bug was still coming out of the bottom end. By the weekend, it decided to slowly make its way out of the babies and into me. The weekend totally sucked. Now the babies are starting to eat food again ("food" meaning their 2nd and 3rd stage foods) and we're getting full full diapers of the system-getting-used-to-functioning-again kind instead. So full in fact that Cam set a new precedent in dirty diapers yesterday. We were almost home--in our neighborhood even--and I smelled it. I didn't even look at the back mirror--I was too scared. When I opened the back door I realized there was no turning back, just dive in and take care of things...there "it" was EVERYWHERE! All down her legs, all over the car seat, all over Cookie Monster, all over her hands, and smeared on her head and cheeks. Once we got to the tile floor inside, she had the most fun smearing "it" even more across her face. Someone was watching out for me as Cole stayed sleeping in the car right up until I was just finished cleaning her up and got a fresh diaper on her at least. Both babies were then mesmerized as I wrangled the car seat cover off (quite a task actually!) and managed to get everything into the washer. (Cookie Monster is going to need another bath by the way.) Cole tried to top that with his dirty diaper a few hours later (it shot all the way up his back to his neck). I tried to explain to them that this is NOT a competition. After last week, and still this week, we're out of plastic grocery sacks (for dirty diaper disposal straight into the big trash in the garage). I thought those were something people never run out of? Leave it to us. So now Mario's doggy bags are pulling double duty. Please, please let our lives get back to "normal" sooner than later!!!!
