First of Fall Fun

Cole and Cam are definitely at a fun age to be out and about doing more stuff. Well mostly, except for the couple times we had to leave the library in the middle of things--and I literally dragged both of them out kicking and screaming. And as mentioned before, the terrible two's are still most definitely in full effect daily. For both of them, their favorite word is a loud, resounding NO! Or NO, Mommy! Camryn is particularly possessed when one second she is laughing and smiling, then the next second she has thrown herself on the floor kicking and screaming. Huh???? The terrible two phenomenon possesses Cole when he gets into hitting and kicking moods--particularly directed right at his sister. He also is extremely particular when it comes to what he wears. Some days I can pull it off and pick whatever for him, but most days it's one of his Thomas the Train shirts or a Mickey shirt. He still struggles with wearing pants. I have to force those on him. He prefers to wear shorts--nothing past his shins. But with 50 degree and below temps lately, it's been a bit trying. To his credit he's getting better about the pants thing, still obsessed with Thomas shirts and hitting/kicking his sister though. And to Cam's credit...well, she's super cute and she knows it!

They love singing, reading and saying nursery rhymes lately. Camryn can sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star really well. A lot of her words in it are quite clear, and she's got the tune down. In fact, she'll sing random words too--to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle. Our favorite nursery rhymes and songs are Mary Had a Little Lamb, This Old Man, Old King Cole, Humpty Dumpty (except when Matt pretends to be Humpty Dumpty sticking his head in a pillow case--it terrifies Camryn), Six Little Ducks, Old MacDonald, Ring Around The Rosie, and more each day! They love this Wee Sing kid's DVD called Old King Cole's party. My mom suggested they would probably love it, and she was right. However, I sometimes have nightmares from the creepiness of it! We watch it at least 3 times a week--actually usually more than that even. It's the go-to movie they watch while I make dinner, so it works. This movie couldn't have been made earlier than 1950, and it's quite strange!---but they LOVE it. They love singing along with it and Camryn even stands in front of the TV to do some of the dances with it now.

I've been enjoying trying new recipes on Pinterest. EASY recipes on Pinterest, that is...!

"Elmo Knows It" as they call it. Another favorite thing to watch...
Camryn seems to like getting her hair done at school, and I love it. Her teachers always have her looking so cute! One of the days, the boys in the class didn't want to be left out, so they got their hair done too. I thought it was awesome!...And I kind of thought this particular hairdo on Cole reminded me of Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers or something?!
We always love going to the zoo and it was even more fun with Audrey and Wyatt!

We had our first dusting of snow at the beginning of October. We're supposed to have similar weather tomorrow too, maybe a bit more than a dusting this time though?

This was our first time to ever go to a pumpkin patch. We had a great time. The kids got into it way more and enjoyed it more than I thought they would. They're very aware and attentive of all the pumpkins we see everyday now.

Their new favorite thing is when I make them a "couch bed"...
(Mario just always wants to play)

We've had fun going to the library again on Wednesdays and we're looking forward to all our Halloween parties and trick-or-treating times starting this Friday. They're both being Elmo for Halloween and are excited to talk about that and all the "trick-or-treat" they're going to do...
