Ready for the Olympics and the Railroad

We have Olympic fever here, we look forward to them and love watching it all! The kids like watching the swimming and proclaiming "pool, pool, pool!" over and over during the swimming events. They also like watching the cycling "Daddy's bike?" and the gymnastics. During the swimming, they'll both get on the floor and kick their legs pretending to swim. When the gymnastics are on they turn crazy and run back and forth on the couch plopping down then throwing their arms in the air when they finish. Camryn also caught some of the equestrian highlights and loved the "horsies". She got so excited seeing the horses jump (she started jumping too) and had such a smile seeing the horses. To which Matt then asked me how old she has to be to start riding horses? Cycling and horses in the same house--too expensive!!! Matt and I love so many of the events. I never would be interested in beach volleyball or rowing--but when it's the Olympics, I'm all in!

Side track to our other favorite thing still: playing outside with our pool. And also our crazy, wild sprinkler. The sprinkler is now equally as fun as the pool, with Camryn at least. She likes to direct the hoses in different directions. Or right at me, or right at Cole. Maybe that's why Cole isn't as fond of the wild sprinkler? Not only is the wild sprinkler fun to play with, it's also fun to drink out of apparently.

Ready for the opening ceremonies. We celebrated and got take out then hung out at the house watching it all. At the beginning, there were kids singing songs and Camryn was so enamored by it. She was glued to the TV smiling whenever kids would sing or be on the opening program. Then she'd sing or hum "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"--which she actually did most of the day because she was wearing her "Twinkle Twinkle Star" shirt.
Cole has red, white, and blue and Olympic shirts too, but we were still in the phase where he'd only wear this particular Thomas shirt. We're on day 5 here.
She's all about the kids during the opening ceremonies...

The next day was awesome because we finally took the 5 minute jaunt over to the Railroad Museum by our house. We had always seen signs, but then started hearing more about it when we saw advertisements for "A Day Out With Thomas" that's going to take place there in September. Thomas the Train tours?--we will so be there! The kids actually had a great time walking around the grounds seeing all the many trains they had out for viewing there. Some of them we could go in, others we could play with wheels and buttons. They had lots of places to have picnics and we got to do a cool, actual train ride too. Of course, one of the highlights was playing with the train table in the gift shop.

Cole was seriously into the train ride, literally.

Cam wasn't so sure about the actual train once again (like at the zoo). She likes "choo choo's" but when it comes to actually being on or around one and hearing the actual choo choo, she gets a little weary. She eventually got a little more at ease once the ride got on and enjoyed it.
Posing by a bunch of trains...

Equally as fun as the train table in the gift shop was "driving the choo choo".

We're looking forward to going back more since it's so close, and of course, our Day Out With Thomas!!
