Mother's Day Fun

Had a great 2nd Mother's Day this year, the week was full of fun things. One of the highlights from my month of May was the gorgeous weather here. 

During the week leading up, we had our MOPS Spring Brunch. This was the last MOPS gathering of the "year' until it all starts over again next September. It was kind of sad saying our goodbyes to the two Moppet teachers that had Camryn and Cole this year. They've been with them most every Tuesday since September. These sweet ladies have watched them from just learning to walk, to walking like pros--watched Camryn finally sprout out hair over the past 9 month-- have heard them saying their first words, and basically just watched them develop into the crazy toddlers they are now compared to the barely 1 year-olds they were when we first moved here. It makes me emotional when thinking about all of it in that perspective! 

 Continuing with our month of logged reading, another favorite place to have reading time is in their actual beds. Camryn usually "reads aloud" to herself as she goes down for a nap, and then sometimes at actual bedtime too.

 Cole reluctantly gets peer pressured into reading with "Sissy". "Sissy" is what Cole calls Cam--not sure if he knows her actual name?! As a result, this is what Camryn calls herself now. "Sissy" and "Coley" are the favored names around here...

On the Friday of Mother's Day we went to the Museum of Nature and Science with Maya and Cooper. We weren't sure if the babies were going to get into very much. We knew for sure Matt would get into it, of course. We were kind of surprised to see how much the babies LOVED that whole place, though. It started off with going into the planetarium for the babies' first movie ever---It was a Big Bird and Elmo movie. I was hesitant how long we'd last when I saw it was 20 minutes. I was shocked that they sat still and were thoroughly entertained by it the entire 20 minutes. Big Bird and Elmo were a winning combination for their first movie.

 All the dinosaur displays and activities were really fun too. They spent a lot of time digging and they really got into looking at the "dino" bones. And for some reason it was only fun to ride in their stroller if they could ride on Maya and Cooper in the stroller. ?? I also noticed that they minded Maya WAY better than they ever minded me or Matt while at the museum. She'd beckon them to follow her somewhere or tell them to do or go a certain way and they instantly obeyed!

The next couple days of the weekend were filled with fun shopping and hanging out doing fun family things. That was nice since we hardly saw much of Matt during the actual week. We topped the weekend off by having one of all of our favorite dinners: Chicken and Noodles! I received a super nice gift of two potted flowers that the babies made at school (the lady bugs are their thumb prints), a nice colored picture ;), and a Pandora bracelet with two starter charms of September birthday blossoms.
