Busy Babies

We like to stay busy around here. I find on days where we have nothing, we get restless, we're more whiny, and we're all kind of struggling for motivation to even get out of our jammies by mid-afternoon. Granted, we need do-nothing days, but as good as I hope they'll be and as good as they sound, the reality is we do better when we have at least one thing going on.

...Even if that one thing is just playing and being outside for a lot of the day...

Cam likes to make sure things stay tidied up...
 Showing off her cool kicks...

School continued to have fun themes and we got to take part in "bring your favorite book to school" day. That was a tough one to narrow down. We chose to bring our favorite book for that particular week. The Elmo book was Camryn's favored one--that week, at least. And Cole's seemed to be the puppy book. At school that day their teacher made sure to read all the books the kids brought to the class during story time.
They also did some really cool art last week at school too. I have the bulletin boards, just need them hung. I'm hoping to have several bulletin boards on that huge blank wall above our kitchen table to display all the great art, projects, and pictures that Cole and Cam have lately.

On a separate note, Mimi sent us some super cute clothes. The babies immediately had to try them on...

And Cole would only sleep in his new basketball jersey that night. He haphazardly stretched off his originally jammy top and kept shoving the jersey at me until I'd put it on him.

We've been to Target a couple times not riding in our stroller, but riding in their big kid cart. We've also been practicing drinking milks out of those big kid little milk boxes. They drink really good out of them at first, but then curiosity gets the better of them and milk ends up being squeezed out all over the place. Yesterday we had them and they ended up actually consuming about over half of the amount in them. Regardless, the milk boxes are a great distraction for Momma to do some shopping!

Impossible not to enjoy a good puppy dog snuggle time with this sweet boy...One of those rare times I got the house picked up and the babies napped longer than normal. Definitely have to take advantage of those times by spending a few lazy minutes on the couch propping my ankles up and loving on my first baby boy. :)

Last weekend (so I guess it's been almost 2 weekends ago now) we had a fun Friday night out with Matt--at Outback Steakhouse--one of my faves, if I do say so myself. (I also had my own motives to have some help at Babies R Us across the street afterwards.) Much to my Dad's dismay probably, these are not steak-eating babies. They spat out bites of Matt's steak--and reached out for bites of my salmon instead. Kind of impressive since chicken fingers were right in front of them too. You can always count on them eating sweet potato fries, but Camryn surprised us with her veggie eating that night. She ate lots of bites of my salad (I'm sure the ranch dressing helped!), but then also indulged big time on my steamed veggies too. Yay! Cole had a particular fondness for all of our bread. Can't blame him. Together, I think he and I polished off a good 2 loaves of it!
...At Babies R Us afterwards. Didn't know Matt was taking pictures. I clearly take my diaper coupon-ing too seriously...and Camryn clearly takes reading through the store's adds seriously too!

A few days later they got to try out the bike trailer. Their helmets are the wrong kind for the bike trailer being that they stick out in the back. Also, Cam's is too big. We've since gotten them new and improved helmets...

They had a fun time riding around. "Weee Weeee" could be heard all down the street. They've gone riding a couple more times since then and they still continue to enjoy it.
