Been toooooo long, I know. Some big catching up...Here we go!
Grammy got to stay with us up here ever since we got back from Colorado. We wish she could come here all the time!
We tried the Pottery Barn Kids story time for the first time. It was actually our first story time we've ever been to. They acted about how I thought they would--not so great. At first it was okay, Camryn picked her own spot and read her own books while Cole picked a seat and sat nicely in it listening to the story. About 2 minutes later though, something clicked in both of them and they turned into the monkeys I know and love. Cole started rearranging the chairs, Camryn started taking every book off the bookshelves in the stores (I never noticed how many books are on those darn bookshelves in that store until now!), and then they both started fighting over the same book. Each of them found and brought over the exact same whale book and each wanted the other's...even though, again, it was the same book???? Once that settled, Cole began making whale sounds---at the same decibel that a real whale would sound. After getting Cole strapped in his stroller to quickly leave, we looked up and Camryn was out the store and already running out down the actual mall--with the whale book in hand. It was time to go to the play area.
Let the rearranging and chaos begin...
We've been to the PBK story times 2 more times since then. Each time equally chaotic in different ways. We only last about 2 minutes into the actual story. Is that enough to count to get our free books after we attempt to go to just 2 more (for our total of 5)?? One of the other times, both kids started jumping on one of the display beds squealing loudly. Another time Camryn once again started pulling all the books off the shelves (let it be noted that she does sit and read each one she grabs...but still...) while Cole rolled all over a display bed proclaiming "night night, night night, night night" really loud.
A few days later Uncle came to visit!!! It was a great visit. While he was here we went to the zoo and got to check out the new elephant passage that recently opened. The new elephant area was a bit disappointing. Maybe it will improve with time. We saw 4 elephants outside of the passage area and only 1 actually inside the actual exhibit. We'll try it again because we reeaaalllly love elephants!
Cole loves the merry go round, he never wants to get off.
Ice Cream, still, is the best part of any outing.
(Matt reallllly loves the popcorn at the zoo...??? So we brought some home for an early birthday present.)
It's great to waller all over Uncle, especially when he eats. I'm just glad it wasn't my lap for once.
Some pictures from school. They get to have splash day every Monday this summer and they love it--Camryn especially loves it. This poster is on the front door leading into their classroom.
This is hanging in their room. What makes Camryn "happy" couldn't be more accurate!
While Robby was here we went to pick them up early one day. They were outside having a birthday party for one of their friends...
We also went up to visit Matt at his work. They loved playing in his office. Cole liked playing with all the toys in there (all the KU stuff like footballs and basketballs) while Cam basically just got down to business.
Matt had a nice birthday. We celebrated at home and then he and I went to Vail and came back the next day.
More fun times with Uncle...Come back and visit!!
